As an active contributor to the K9 Finance DAO, I have been creating valuable content, including YouTube videos, shorts, and video podcasts of weekly X-Spaces. Now, I propose taking these efforts to the next level by creating a dedicated video guide library website and continuing to expand the reach of K9 Finance through focused marketing and educational content.
Importantly, this work will not be additional to my current commitments. I will take time off from my regular job to dedicate myself fully to this project. This ensures I can give 100% focus and deliver high-quality results. I need as much time as I can to catch up, specially the X-Space recordings which I have not been able to work with since Bonecrusher launch.
Objectives
Video Guide Library Website:
Build a comprehensive and user-friendly website that serves as a hub for video guides on K9 Finance and other Shibarium projects.
Help users navigate the overwhelming amount of information available and act more safely in the crypto space.
Strengthen K9 Finance’s connection with the broader Shibarium ecosystem.
Content Creation:
Complete the following video guides:
K9 Finance DAO (Bonecrusher, governance, DAO).
Shibarium (explaining its purpose and ecosystem).
Get up to date with the X-Space video podcasts with improved features like timestamps and more detailed content.
Create additional video guides for Shibarium projects such as $BAD and $LTD (I think having more Shibarium projects in one place is beneficial for K9 Finance DAO).
Produce YouTube shorts regulary for targeted K9 Finance marketing.
Community Engagement:
Continue being active on Telegram, Discord, and X.
Act as a bridge between K9 Finance and the broader Shibarium ecosystem, fostering collaboration instead of competition.
Execution Plan
Phase 1: Content Creation and Updates (First 3 Months)
Dedicate 3 days per week to:
Update X-Space recordings with advanced features (e.g., timestamps).
Complete K9 Finance video guides and begin Shibarium video guides.
Continue working on the website.
Phase 2: Website Development and Expansion (Months 4–6)
Develop and launch the video guide library website:
Focus first on K9 Finance, then expand to other Shibarium projects.
Ensure ease of navigation and accessibility.
Continue creating content for $BAD and $LTD video guides. (This will not be part of the allocated time but shows what more will be added to the website during this period.)
Ongoing Activities in Phase 1 and 2:
Weekly YouTube shorts for K9 Finance marketing.
Engage with the community on Telegram, Discord, and X.
Commitment
To work on this project, I will take time off from my current job, reducing my working hours in real life.
This ensures that the time dedicated to K9 Finance is focused, efficient, and entirely separate from other commitments.
My proposed rate reflects my local living standards and it’s the minimum I would get from my other job where my average is $172/day. I reside in one of the world’s most expensive countries, so I know these numbers can be high for many people.
Cost Breakdown
Personal Payment:
First 3 months: 3 days/week at $150/day = $5,400.
Next 3 months: Estimated 1–2 days/week = $2,400.
Total for 6 months: $7,800.
Tool Subscriptions (monthly):
YouTube: $15
Canva: $15
ElevenLabs: $11
OpenAI: $20
Total for 6 months: $366.
Website Development:
Domain: ~$10/year
Hosting: ~$350/year
SSL and FileZilla: Free
Total: $360.
Hardware Upgrade:
8TB storage unit for managing video files: $660.
Grand Total: $9,186
Expected Impact
Educational Hub:
The website will serve as a central repository for users seeking guidance on K9 Finance, Shibarium, and partner projects.
Stronger Community Ties:
By bridging the gap between K9 Finance and the broader Shibarium ecosystem, this initiative will foster collaboration and user trust.
Increased Awareness:
With updated video content and regular launches of shorts featuring K9 news, updates, guides, and marketing efforts, K9 Finance will strengthen its brand and reach within the crypto community.
Evaluation
At the end of the first 3 months, progress will be reviewed to adjust the time commitment and priorities for the remaining period.
Milestones include:
Launching the website.
Completing video guides for K9 Finance and Shibarium.
Expanding into other Shibarium projects.
Conclusion
This proposal outlines a comprehensive plan to enhance K9 Finance’s educational resources and marketing outreach while strengthening its presence in the Shibarium ecosystem. By taking time off from my regular job, I will ensure this project receives my full focus and dedication.
With your support, I am confident we can achieve these goals and provide immense value to the community.
Awesome idea… im for it just not at the moment. The DAO just paid out for the sub-DAO, give more time for us to grow and have more resources to throw at this…
I have real appreciation for the amount of efforts it takes to produce quality video content. So I applaud all your existing efforts and thank you for the initiative Seizan.
Generally, it sounds like a useful idea.
I have a few concerns though.
This sounds to me like something our Marketing Sub-DAO could potentially finance as part of their pre-allocated budget - if it feels like it will have a net-positive impact. Then we don’t even need to discuss it.
If it doesn’t feel it’s a worthy investment though - I’d question if the bang will be big enough for the buck to put it on top of existing $15k a month we have in that budget.
While I appreciate the usefulness of Shibarium guides more than average Joe - having my K9 hat on - I am not sure the K9 DAO should be paying for those out of own pocket.
Plus some videos that were developed by the community are already in existence.
I believe Archangel did some. We could potentially use those and upload to the domain (with his permission of course - which I don’t think he’ll withhold).
8TB of storage is 1000+ hour of videos. That seems like more X movies one can possibly handle. I mean YT movies.
Even if you produce ±9 hours worth of videos per week that will be 256.5 hours worth of videos or roughly 2TB of space needed. And I’m not sure there is real need to keep the copy of everything after it’s uploaded to online hosting even if you make more than that. Just need enough space for what you are currently working on.
And DAO cannot rely on all files being kept on one computer of a DAO member anyway as any number of things might happen to it potentially. Not safe.
Do correct me if I’m wrong somewhere in my estimates.
For the hosting - maybe we can use K9s current hosting plan and save on this expense?
First, I appreciate No One’s recognition of the effort involved in creating quality content, and I’m glad you see the potential value in this proposal.
Let me address your concerns point by point:
Marketing Sub-DAO Financing
Yes, this proposal is intended for the Marketing Sub-DAO. The funding would come from its pre-allocated budget, assuming it’s deemed to have a net-positive impact. My aim is to create content and infrastructure that strengthens K9 Finance’s presence and engagement while aligning with our overarching marketing goals. If this aligns with what the sub-DAO prioritizes, I believe it’s a worthwhile investment.
Focus on K9 DAO, Not Shibarium Projects
To clarify, the K9 DAO will not be funding my work related to other Shibarium projects. I included that as an example to illustrate the potential impact of having a hub where all projects are “united” for accessibility and collaboration. My primary focus remains on K9 Finance, including Bonecrusher guides, governance content, and X-Space recordings.
8TB Storage Needs
Yes, 8TB might seem huge at first glance, but it’s a forward-looking investment for my ongoing work. My current workflow involves saving large amounts of content—images, unfinished videos, UE5 projects, and other assets—which consume space quickly. When considering this proposal, I asked myself, “What would I buy right now if I were covering this from my own pocket?” This storage unit was the answer.
If the allocated budget covers less, I’m prepared to pay the remaining cost myself. It’s about ensuring I have the tools necessary for the continuous production of high-quality content.
Storage and Online Hosting
I understand the concern about reliance on local storage, but I don’t store anything online and prefer to keep it that way. My workflow involves saving assets for later use, and the idea of only keeping files I’m actively working on doesn’t align with how I manage my projects.
Hosting
Regarding the suggestion to use K9’s existing hosting plan, I’m not sure how feasible that would be without permissions and access to the current website infrastructure. This could introduce logistical and security concerns. In my view, $300/year for dedicated hosting is a reasonable expense, especially when factoring in the autonomy it provides for managing the website.
In summary, I believe this proposal is a strong match for the Marketing Sub-DAO’s goals, and I appreciate the opportunity to address these concerns. If there are additional points to clarify, I’m happy to do so!
Maybe in the future proposals to Marketing Sub-DAO should indicate somewhere that this is what it is - so people understand it doesn’t have to go through the Roundtable and aimed at sub-DAO instead. As they are the final decision-makers for those.
Yeah, there is a little indicator for it, if you look up top there is a blu box next to the yellow where it says “Marketing Sub-DAO”. But easy to overlook, so it can be a good thing to add it into the proposal too. And/or maybe have it as a own categori under the Marketing, and not as a sub, even it is a sub~ lol
For sure 8TB will be a real blessing! Nudes for everyone!
