K9 Finance DAO x Thrive Protocol (Funding Opportunity)

Hi guys!

I’m Sulayman, an advocate at Thrive Protocol. I’ve been closely following your groundbreaking work in pioneering liquid staking solutions on Shibarium. Your initiatives, such as enabling BONE holders to stake and receive knBONE tokens, have significantly enhanced liquidity and DeFi participation within the Shiba Inu ecosystem

Your strategic partnership with Google Cloud, aimed at integrating AI-driven governance tools and enhancing infrastructure scalability , along with your leadership as the largest validator on Shibarium, demonstrates a strong commitment to innovation and community empowerment

At Thrive Protocol, we share your vision of advancing decentralized finance. We offer up to $250,000 in non-dilutive funding to support projects that are pushing the boundaries of blockchain technology . Given K9 Finance DAO’s impactful contributions, we believe there’s a strong alignment between our missions.

If you’re interested, I’d be delighted to connect you with our Head of Developer Relations to explore this opportunity further.

Wishing you continued success with K9 Finance DAO and your broader initiatives.

Best regards,
Sulayman

Hey Sulayman – thanks for taking the time to post this here!

First off, I’m genuinely happy to see this kind of proposal land on our forum, usually, we get these kinds of messages in Discord DMs or Telegram and it’s 9 out of 10 times some sort of scam or low-effort outreach. But the fact that you found your way here, to the DAO’s own discussion board, adds a lot of credibility already

But it would be nice if you could verify, could you tag me in the Thrive Discord, my handle is Seizan.shib / seizan_._ ideally in the thrive-chat channel?

That said, this is a very interesting proposal.

At first I wasn’t totally sure what Thrive Protocol actually was, whether it was more of a marketing outlet, a launchpad, or something else, but after digging in a bit, it’s clear that Thrive acts as a decentralized coordinator and validator of funding, working with treasury capital from protocols like Arbitrum, Metis and ApeCoin to distribute grants more effectively.

It’s not just about handing out money, it’s about attaching funding to actual, verifiable milestones through on-chain attestations and community oversight. That approach aligns well with what we value at K9 Finance DAO: transparency, contribution-based merit, and measurable progress.

From Thrive’s side, I see a clear incentive as well: by supporting a Shibarium-native protocol like K9 Finance, Thrive expands into a new and fast-growing Layer 2 ecosystem, gets measurable impact data from our validator and staking operations, and builds reputation through on-chain value delivery. We could serve as a proof-of-value use case for Thrive’s model in a network where Thrive doesn’t yet have an established presence.

For K9, this opens up an opportunity to accelerate roadmap items, especially those that benefit the broader Shibarium ecosystem, while gaining access to Thrive’s framework for accountability, developer reputation, and public validation.

This is my take on what Thrive Protocol does and what it can mean for K9 Finance DAO, but if you have more to add, plz do, so other DAO members here can easily understand what this is about :slightly_smiling_face:

Looking forward to hearing from you in Discord and learning more about what next steps might look like.

Hey Seizan,

You made my day! The fact that you acknowledged my careful efforts to stand-out and gave my pitch a considerate read; that was enough sunshine for me.

I would absolutely be delighted to tag you in the Thrive Discord (thrive chat), and if you want, I could get the Team to DM you from the official Thrive Protocol account on X too. We value our transparency at Thrive so much, and I’m elated to see K9 keeping up too (feeling myself ‘cause I made a good judgement of you guys btw)

I also see the mutual benefit in supporting a Shiba Inu-native protocol like K9 Finance to help Thrive expand into the Layer 2 ecosystem. This partnership could indeed serve as a strong proof-of-value for Thrive’s model in a new network, especially with access to validator data, staking operations, and on-chain value delivery, etc.

I’d love to explore this together. Looking forward to communicating more with you on Discord. Thank you, Seizan & the rest of the K9 Team. Have a wonderful day! ~ sulayman

Posting this here so ya all know :slightly_smiling_face:
Sulayman from Thrive Protocol tagged me on Discord to verify his identity, :white_check_mark: legit.

So this proposal isn’t just another cold pitch. It’s a serious opportunity with potential support of up to $250k in non-dilutive funding for our DAO, tied to real deliverables and value creation.

Now let’s hear everyone’s thoughts on this.
Personally, I think this is definitely worth looking into. Not just for the funding, but because it could bring a new kind of accountability framework and visibility into what we build here at K9.

Could be a chance to (?):

  • Reward real contributors.
  • Get more builders involved.
  • Strengthen our ecosystem reputation and expand our reach.

If anyone has experience with Thrive, or questions/concerns, drop them below. Let’s dig into it together as a DAO :paw_prints:

While I personally do now know about Thrive Protocol, I would like to thank you for making this proposal. In agreement with Seizan, using the forum shows an increased level of conviction. I look forward to seeing how this proposal develops, as well as learning about Thrive. My question would be what exactly is the goal of this proposal? The who, what, where, why, how.

Thank you for your thoughtful response and for welcoming the Thrive Protocol proposal! I appreciate the recognition of our commitment by using the forum, and I’m happy to provide more details on the goal of this proposal, the role of advocates like myself, and why I’m proposing this partnership, covering the who, what, where, why, and how.

Thrive Protocol advocates, like myself, aim to bridge the gap between crypto communities and efficient capital allocation by championing partnerships that maximize value creation. We focus on connecting top talent, streamlining grant distribution, and validating contributions through on-chain milestones to ensure transparency and measurable impact. Our goal is to empower ecosystems, like Shibarium, by fostering collaboration, attracting builders, and ensuring funds are used effectively to drive growth and innovation.

Why I, an Advocate, Am Proposing This:
As a Thrive Protocol advocate, my role is to identify and propose partnerships that align with Thrive’s mission of creating value for all communities while addressing their unique needs. I’m proposing this collaboration with K9 Finance DAO because I see a clear opportunity for mutual growth. K9 Finance DAO, as a Shiba Inu-native liquid staking protocol on Shibarium, is well-positioned to benefit from Thrive’s expertise in decentralized funding coordination, while Thrive can expand its presence into the fast-growing Shibarium ecosystem through this partnership. My advocacy stems from a belief that combining Thrive’s tools with K9’s community-driven governance can set a new standard for transparent, merit-based DeFi projects.

Who:
Thrive Protocol, founded in 2021 by Daniel Jacobs, is a decentralized platform with a team of over 30 developers, entrepreneurs, and crypto experts, working with protocols like Arbitrum, Metis, and ApeCoin to optimize treasury capital distribution. I’m an advocate for Thrive, and we’re engaging with K9 Finance DAO, a liquid staking protocol on Shibarium, to explore a partnership.

What:
The proposal aims to establish a partnership where Thrive Protocol supports K9 Finance DAO by providing decentralized coordination and validation of funding. Thrive would ensure grants or incentives are distributed based on verifiable, on-chain milestones, helping K9 Finance DAO scale its operations while Thrive expands into Shibarium.

Where:
This collaboration would take place within the Shibarium ecosystem, where K9 Finance DAO operates as a liquid staking protocol for BONE tokens. Thrive would integrate its tools and validator network to support K9’s growth, leveraging K9’s community governance on the K9 Finance DAO forum and Snapshot voting platform.

Why:
This partnership benefits both parties. For K9 Finance DAO, Thrive offers a transparent, milestone-based funding model that aligns with K9’s values of transparency and merit-based progress, helping attract contributors and scale in Shibarium. For Thrive, supporting a Shiba Inu-native protocol like K9 Finance DAO allows us to expand into Shibarium, gain measurable impact data, and build reputation through on-chain value delivery. As an advocate, I see this as a strategic fit to drive innovation and growth in a new Layer 2 ecosystem.

How:
Thrive would use its decentralized reviewer network and on-chain attestation tools to validate contributions and milestones for K9 Finance DAO projects. Funding from Thrive’s treasury partners (like Arbitrum or Metis) would be unlocked only when value is created. K9 Finance DAO would gain access to Thrive’s network of builders and DeFi experts, while Thrive would use K9’s validator and staking data to demonstrate a proof-of-value use case.

Next steps include deeper discussions, potentially via a call, to align on KPIs and milestones, followed by a formal proposal submission for community feedback and Snapshot voting.

I hope this provides a clear picture of the proposal and my role as an advocate. I’m excited to continue this discussion and explore how we can collaborate to benefit both K9 Finance DAO and Thrive Protocol!

If you guys are on-board, I’ve already spoken to the Dev Relations about K9. We could get both parties into a group chat in order to move further forward. Thanks!

Hello sulayyymannn, glad to read your proposal, I like it and find it exciting,I would just like to know how and when the funding is expected to be repaid.

Nice Question!

Thrive Protocol funding does not need to be repaid in the traditional sense, as it operates primarily through milestone-based grants and rewards rather than loans.

The funding is designed to incentivize builders and contributors in crypto ecosystems, with funds allocated based on achieving specific milestones that demonstrate value creation, such as delivering sustainable impact or driving key performance indicators (KPIs) for the ecosystem.

Like I stated earlier, such information can be discussed directly with the Dev Relations Team.

Please DM on TG : @sulayyymannn and I’ll create the group chat. There, all answers will be communicated to you by the Head of the DevRel and will be more appropriate and fitting for the smooth progression of the process. Thanks! Let me know if you have any concerns! Happy to be of aid, always!

Until all the details are in the original proposal, I can’t provide my thoughts on this. Too many questions without all the details.
