Proposal to Allocate Funds for Feasibility Study on Polygon Expansion

No, I am not part of the development team.

yes

I chose a number that seemed like an appropriate compensation for a person or team’s time to complete the study based on industry rates.

The proposal is designed to compensate the professionals who will do the task for their time spent working for the K9 DAO. I would never ask anyone to work for free.

I love the idea of potential expansion. Doing our due diligence and getting our proper research done is a proper first step.

:no_entry_sign: Counterargument: Why Expanding to Polygon Is Counterproductive for K9 Finance DAO

  1. Lido Left Polygon for a Reason — And We Should Learn From It!
[ Lido is Leaving the Polygon Ecosystem ]

Lido, one of the most respected names in decentralized staking, discontinued support for Polygon citing low usage, high operational costs, and technical complexity. If a multi-chain giant like Lido found Polygon unsustainable, what incentive do we, as a lean and efficient DAO, have to pursue it?

  1. Polygon Is Becoming Increasingly Centralized

Polygon has taken steps like re-centralizing validator selection and partnering heavily with corporate interests**. This goes against the ethos of K9 Finance, which was born to empower *community-driven, decentralized staking. Why build on an empire we don’t control, when we have our own — Shibarium?

  1. Shibarium Is Home — Technologically, Economically, and Ideologically
Shibarium is faster, more cost-effective, and designed to be the decentralized infrastructure of the SHIBA State. It aligns with OUR VALUES and our user base. We’re not just a partner of Shiba Inu — we’re a core part of its technological backbone. Spreading thin across blockchains like Polygon could dilute our focus and divide resources.

  2. Real Value Comes from Depth, Not Width

Instead of trying to expand horizontally to every chain, the smarter play is to go deeper on Shibarium —

  • Build advanced liquid staking modules
  • Expand integrations across SHIB OS and Shiba State
  • Optimize Agent 9 AI tools to guide proposal submissions and governance
  • Power next-gen DeFi dApps with advanced tokenomics
  1. The SHIB Ecosystem Is Booming — Why Leave the Front Row Seat?
With the rise of $SHIB, $BONE, $TREAT, $LEASH, and $SHI Plus, rumored integrations with major AI partners like $BAD Idea AI, Shibarium is rapidly becoming one of the most innovative chains in the space. By staying focused here, K9 Finance positions itself as the foundational layer of a growing empire, not a sidekick on an aging chain THAT HAS HAD TO REBRAND ITSELF THREE TIMES! Lol!.

  2. Narrative + Community Alignment = Power

Polygon is a known chain, yes — but our strongest story, our deepest roots, and our most loyal users are in the SHIBARMY. We should double down on the chain where K9 is a leader, not stretch ourselves into a chain where we’re one of many.

  1. Credibility

Most that have expanded to other chains in search of volume in a sideways or bear market haven’t fared well. We are amongst the most credible projects, if not the most credible project on Shibarium!

:white_check_mark: Recommended Focus Areas Instead of Expanding to Polygon:

  • Advanced staking derivatives on Shibarium-Can be expanded
  • Deep integration with SHIB OS and Shiba State-Can be expanded
  • AI-powered governance via Agent 9 enhancements-Can be expanded
  • Security-first staking protocols-Can be expanded
  • Onboarding new DAOs and DeFi apps to use KNINE as infrastructure-Can be expanded

Thanks For Your Time - Double Down On SHIBARIUM!

  • Bonecrusher?
  • Can you please explain this a little more?
  • The agent was released a month ago, and iirc this is an early stage and it will continue to be worked on (?)
  • What do you mean here?

Without a roadmap it feels stagnant. I love to see visual progress. +1

Id like to see this proposal accelerated . Funds Allocated For development research can be used as timely as research develops. Instead of working by a timeline working for a end result.

yeah rite lol…but sounds Sophisticated…

I find this to be a well-thought out proposal with a reasonable timeline and budget that the DAO can afford. It is in the original litepaper of K9 DAO that there may be chain expansion in the future and the litepaper also addresses the risks of overreliance on Shibarium.

Polygon is also the closest chain to Shibarium, so it would be the lowest technical lift for expansion - even though it would still not be small.

I like that this proposal does not force the DAO to move to Polygon, but only opens up the resourcing required to explore what becoming multi-chain would look like through a detailed technical analysis on Polygon.

I don’t think this proposal should be looked at as “abandoning” Shibarium, but rather allowing for the resource requirements to do a detailed report at what K9 would look like if it were to become multi-chain. K9 would still be active and live on Shibarium in the event this proposal went through AND the DAO voted to implement the findings of the final report and expand to a multi-chain experience on Polygon as well as Shibarium.

I think this has the elements to warrant a token holder vote to see if token holders would like to explore this.

Totally agree with this. I honestly don’t get how some are interpreting this as “abandoning” Shibarium. If anything, I see it as strengthening it.

Think about it, if $KNINE increases in value due to a Polygon expansion, that directly benefits the Shibarium side too. Why? Because it makes liquid staking Bone and farming Bone/knBone on Bonecrusher more attractive. A lot of $BONE holders are still hesitant to use Bonecrusher simply because they don’t believe in the value of $KNINE yet. A stronger KNINE across chains could flip that.

And let’s not forget, by expanding to Polygon, we’re putting K9 Finance (and by extension, Shibarium) in front of an entirely new audience. Many DeFi users on Polygon might not even know much about Shibarium yet. So to me, this is a high-level onboarding opportunity, not just for K9, but for the entire Shibarium ecosystem.

So yeah, I see this as a big net positive, for K9 Finance DAO and for Shibarium.

This proposal was voted on during RToD #13 and is now live on Snapshot for a token holder vote.
