Such a well written post, I think this has swayed me back into not wanting to blacklist the bot again and looking at the other options mentioned above.

@Pulse_Digital would you mind putting in some of your feedback that you had on things you may have already tried on these types of bots? I think that is also very valuable information for the community to have before making a final vote. Just want to make sure both sides have ample content before we all decide our best path forward. You had some great points to hit on the other day. Thx!

I supported Lightspeed the first time 8404 was blacklisted at the end of March 2024, when it was identified early on and the effect of a blacklist could have saved arbitrage.
I support the blacklist now simply because it will wrap up this conversation once and for all, and not because I think it will fix the entirety of the $knine chart situation.
I would point out to anyone who is against āusing the blacklist functionā that up until now, nobody seemed to notice the function was already triggered back in March last year (or at least, nobody pointed it out.)

The Roundtable has reviewed this proposal for a second time and is allowing it to go to community vote, with a few amendments.
It will be made clear in the vote on Snapshot that the blacklist is typically reserved for emergency use, so that DAO members clearly understand what they are voting on.
If the proposal passes, any additional wallets related to 8404 will be subject to blacklisting at the discretion of the management council.
It will also be made clear that this arbitrage bot has been banned by other communities and has been active on thousands of projects.

So many of us in your line of thinking while at the same time trying to come up with ideas to address the selling pressureā¦ I agreed to move foreard based on LTD experience of blocking them, we were told it had a positive impact on their chart, then soon after it was said it had no meaningful impact on their chartā¦
